Here is an important request regarding the language used in the presentation slides and posters.
Late last year, the issue was raised that we needed to strengthen our response to internationalization at the annual meeting. At the 81st and 82nd Annual Meetings, it was recommended that English be the language of presentation slides and posters, but there have been no specific policy since then.
After discussion in the Program Committee, I have decided to adopt the following policy for this Congress, for both international participants and fresh students.
Language to be used at the 93rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Parasitology
<Slides and Posters>
For BPA and oral presentations, we recommend that slides be prepared in English.
For posters, we prefer English, but Japanese is also acceptable. If possible, please accommodate non-native Japanese speakers by using English for figures, tables, and titles.
<Speaking Language>
Please use either Japanese or English for your presentation.
We apologize for policy change after abstract submission. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

The 93rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Parasitology
The 93rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Parasitology will be held in March 2023 at Juntendo University's Hongo Campus in Ochanomizu, Tokyo. For the past three years, the meeting was held under restricted circumstances due to the Corona disaster. Following the removal of restrictions against Corona in May 2023, this year's meeting will be held completely face-to-face, and no restrictions are planned for the banquet.
The theme of the convention has been chosen as "Eco parasitology”. The word "eco" evokes various concepts such as ecology and economy. We do not have a clear intention for the theme of this conference, and hope that everyone will search for answers in their own way. The Japanese Society for Parasitology has attracted a very diverse group of researchers and students with parasitism as a common denominator, and a wonderful ecosystem between members has already matured. In this respect, it may be said that we are returning to the starting point.
Ochanomizu is a student town conveniently located 5 minutes from Tokyo Station on the Chuo Line. Although it is a little late in early March for the plum blossoms and a little early for the cherry blossoms, the pressure pattern of high and low in the west and low in the east has begun to loosen, and the smell of spring gradually begins to pervade the air after the cool, clear, sunny days. It is a wonderful time of year. When your brain gets tired from the hot discussions at the conference, how about enjoying the shade of the greenery in the heart of the city, or visiting a café in Ochanomizu or an old bookstore in Jimbocho?
The staff and students of the Department of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology at Juntendo University School of Medicine will do their utmost to ensure that you enjoy the science and the discussions. We look forward to seeing you there.
